A little history
I have been an archer and coach for over 25 years. I started shooting at 12, competing at 14 and won Outdoor Nationals at 16. Retired from competing for 13 years, but then came back to competing to rank in the top 20 in the USA for mens recurve senior division.
As a coach I started working at a JOAD when I was 15, became a Level 3 at 21 then a Level 4 at 25. I was a Junior Dream Team (JDT) coach for 8 years under the guidance of Coach Kisik Lee. Where I learned the value of the NTS system, and working with a variety of other archers, and coaches as a team. Over the years I have coached recurve and compound, kids and adults. Many of whom have made their way to RDT, JDT development and USAT teams.
I believe…
If you are willing to work hard and are open to change, you can do anything.
In being able to focus on what can work for you to create a personalized understanding for knowing your process, build confidence and take your shooting to the next level.
Archery takes a certain kind of courage, requiring an archer to understand themselves more than they would like to sometimes, which can be challenging but in the end quite rewarding. I take the same approach in my own shooting and ask nothing from those I coach that I don’t do myself.
My goal
From tuning a bow to being able to stay calm in a one arrow shoot off, my goal as your coach is to provide guidance into what it takes to compete at a national and international level.
This sport is an exploration of self discovery, enjoy it!
